Five Months
Height: ? No doctor visit this month...
Weight: Over 15 lbs. and counting!
Gunnar has been a hard-working baby during his fifth month. He learned to roll from back to belly and loves practicing his new skill. He has developed quite the belly laugh. He is easily entertained, but Daddy is definitely the one who really gets him going, usually with silly sounds or a game of peek-a-boo. His favorite games are usually ones that scare him. Typical boy, I suppose. He loves to be surprised to the point of scary! His personality is starting to develop and we see glimpses of silliness (naturally), impatience, and a very strong will. He is easily frustrated by toys that he can't pull apart or fit into his mouth and we often do a "toy detox" to force him to relax a little. :) He has discovered gasping and spent a couple days communicating with us and his toys through dramatic gasps. It had me running to check on him the first few times until I figured out he was simply fascinated by the sound.
Sleeping has improved greatly. He is consistently sleeping 10 hours, often waking only to nurse early in the morning and go back to sleep. He is going longer between naps and tolerating car rides better, meaning we get out of the house a little more often. A welcome change for me!
Gunnar is starting to recognize people and greet them with a smile and excited leg-kicking. (His legs are still non-stop!!!) He even likes to be kissed and smiles when someone comes in to give him one. We'll see how long that lasts... :)
